The issue of Venus-sign compatibility can be important for relationships. If two people fundamentally disagree on the style of a relationship, how it is going to operate, then it is unlikely that the relationship will be able to last beyond the initial attraction period. Whilst it is never the case that you cannot be with someone with a very different Venus sign, it is worth understanding where they are coming from so that you can ensure both sets of needs are met in the partnership.

If you have the same Venus sign as your prospective partner then you will immediately have similar views on how to conduct the relationship. We will not therefore consider Venus in Aries with Venus in Aries or Venus in Leo with Venus in Leo, for example. In this article we will consider a selection of Venus-sign combinations.

Venus in Aries, Venus in Gemini

Here we have two Venus signs who enjoy a stimulating relationship. Both are prepared to entertain an adventurous streak in the connection, and even if Venus in Gemini won't actually take the action, it is prepared to talk about it! There could be good compatibility here.

Venus in Gemini, Venus in Capricorn

These two may not understand each other well. Venus in Gemini will take a lighter, less formal approach to relationships whilst Venus in Capricorn will like a serious connection that has clearly defined rules and a structure within which to operate.

Venus in Cancer, Venus in Sagittarius

This is a most unlikely pairing. The love of freedom and prioritising of friendship that Venus in Sagittarius is famed for may be quite offensive to Venus in Cancer, who loves closeness and a sense of being able to depend totally on the other.

Venus in Leo, Venus in Scorpio

Together, with these two, we have a dramatic pairing, but this could be a reasonable match in terms of what each wants from a relationship. Both enjoy a stable connection, and both enjoy being devoted to one another.

Venus in Virgo, Venus in Sagittarius

There is something flexible about Venus in Virgo, yet it is hardly the wide-ranging flexibility of Venus in Sagittarius. These two will prefer quite different styles of relationship, although they have in common a liking for knowledge and intellectual exchange.

Venus in Libra, Venus in Pisces

These two both enjoy a relationship with lots of romance, although Venus in Libra's concern for perfect balance in the partnership may be undermined by slippery Venus in Pisces. For Venus in Pisces, love and adoration may involve almost a sacrifice of self, and that may upset the ideals of Venus in Libra.

Venus in Scorpio, Venus in Capricorn

This could be a good match. Both understand a relationship that can withstand tough challenges, and both will stick in there through good and bad. Neither is adverse to a little difficulty in partnership if it contributes to a happy ending.
